Democratic vice presidential nominee challenges the Republican presidential nominee to produce his taxes; Mike Pence says Donald Trump will provide tax returns once audit is over

Republican vice presidential nominee Mike Pence dominated conversations on Twitter during his feisty debate with Democratic nominee Tim Kaine Tuesday.

Data released by Twitter Government show that Pence accounted for 60 percent of Twitter conversations during the faceoff at Longwood University in Virginia.

The most tweeted topics during the debate were foreign affairs and the economy, followed by terrorism, reproductive rights, and immigration.

The top retweeted tweet during the debate was Donald Trump’s tweet proclaiming Pence as the winner. “Mike Pence won big. We should all be proud of Mike!” he wrote.

Trump also dominated Twitter during the debate compared to Hillary Clinton, with the Republican nominee accounting for 63 percent of conversations.

While Indiana Governor Pence has won plaudits for his poised debate performance, Virginia Sen. Kaine topped Google search during the candidates’ clash.

Social media expert and President of JRM Comm Jason Mollica told FoxNews.com that he wasn’t surprised by the Kaine search result. “If you look at what people searched for on Google about Mr. Kaine (Who is Tim Kaine? What is Tim Kaine known for? Where is Tim Kaine from?), it’s clear that people don’t know much about him,” he explained, via email. “Mr. Pence has been in the headlines, not only as a VP candidate, but also for his decision to sign the ‘religious freedom’ measure into law in Indiana.”
