Chevrolet has announced the date the next version of the Corvette will debut, but you might not hear it coming.

It's the first hybrid version of the sports car, which has been teased in social media posts on Instagram and Facebook with a full reveal slated for Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Chevrolet has previously showcased the model with videos of a camouflaged prototype driving through the snow that indicated it has all-wheel-drive.

The new spot reveals the car on a snowy road with the distinctive sound of a V8 engine, then shows it being switched into a driving mode called Stealth.

After that, it cruises through a city with only the whir of an electric motor heard, suggesting it will be capable of all-electric driving.

No other information has been released, but in December the Chevrolet website briefly posted a page for the Corvette E-Ray, which was removed after it was discovered by fans.

No technical details about the new car have surfaced, but the videos show that it shares its wide body styling with the higher performance Corvette Z06, rather than the base Corvette Stingray.

While it will be the first hybrid Corvette, the E-Ray won't be the last electrified model.
