Auto racing enthusiasts from across the country continue to mourn the death of Jessi Combs, who tragically passed away on Tuesday at the age of 39.

Former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno, a well-known auto aficionado, called her "the fastest woman on four wheels."

The popular race car driver and TV personality was attempting to break her own land-speed record when she was involved in a fatal crash.

"In memory of the fastest woman on four wheels. Your memory lives on," Leno wrote on Twitter.

Many of her friends and "Mythbusters" colleagues also shared their condolences on social media.

“Mythbusters” star Adam Savage tweeted, “I’m so so sad, Jessi Combs has been killed in a crash. She was a brilliant & top-notch builder, engineer, driver, fabricator, and science communicator, & strove every day to encourage others by her prodigious example. She was also a colleague, and we are lesser for her absence.”

"My heart goes out to her family," Savage added in a follow-up message.

Combs had appeared as a guest host on several episodes of Discovery Channel's “Mythbusters.”

Kari Byron, whose spot in the show Combs filled several times, tweeted, “So sad to hear about Jessi. She was a badass. Always pushing limits. Sending smiles into the universe for her.”

"Absolutely gutted to hear the news. You’re a legend Jessi and I will miss you my friend," castmate Tory Belleci echoed on Instagram, sharing two photos of the pair.

"So sorry to hear about Jessi. She was a talented builder and host, and above all, a go-getter," former host Grant Imahara said of the "fastest woman on four wheels."

Beyond "Mythbusters," Combs also appeared on autos show "Overhaulin'."

"Very saddened by the news... She was an icon in our industry and she will be missed," show host Chris Jacobs mourned on Instagram.

Combs' Pal Valerie Thompson, the women’s motorcycle land-speed world record holder, shared an especially emotional tribute.

"It's with a heavy heart that I pass along the news that Jessi Combs passed away yesterday while attempting to break a land speed record. I also had the chance to attempt this record but it wasn't my turn...this hits home for me," Thompson said on Twitter. "Godspeed, Jessi Combs."

“Woke up to the news of my friend Jessi Combs’ tragic death,” wrote Richard Ray Rawlings of “Garage Rehab.” “She lost her life doing what she loved, attempting to beat her own land-speed record. She’s always been a good friend since the Overhaulin days and I can’t believe she’s gone. RIP Jessi, Fastest Woman on Four Wheels.”

Rikki Rockett, the drummer for Poison, posted, “I am so, so sorry to hear this news. R.I.P. Jessi Combs. You were a hero to both men and women. What a sweetheart you were!”
