Somehow, there’s a 1987 Buick GNX up for auction on Bring A Trailer with just 8.5 miles on the odometer and the factory plastic on its seats. It may very well be the lowest-mileage GNX in the world.
The museum-quality muscle car spent the first 15 years of its life sitting on display in a Texas car dealership and has been preserved in a climate controlled storage facility ever since.

The black over grey coupe is number 480 of the 547 GNXs were built. The high-performance version of the already mighty Grand National features a turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 officially rated at 276 hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, but is actually a little more potent than that. Even though no one ever tried to do it in this one, the GNX is capable of covering a quarter-mile in 12.7-seconds, which made it one of the quickest production cars in the world when it was new.
Back then it cost $29,290, but at the time of this writing, the bidding had reached $111,000. The current record auction price paid for a run of the mill GNX was $165,000 in 2015 and was a relative beater with 362 miles on the odometer. However, the very last one built went for $220,000 at a Mecum auction in 2017.

How its two owners were able to resist the temptation to drive it all those years is unknown, but you have until Friday to buy it and either take a taste of Reagan-era speed or put it back in the time machine as a retirement fund.
