Actress Kate del Castillo blamed Sean Penn Thursday for playing a role in the capture of Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, alleging he helped in locating the reputed drug lord. This, as the actress announced she is suing ex-Mexican officials for $60 million for leaking information that she might be connected to Guzman.

Speaking at a news conference in Mexico on Thursday, del Castillo said she no longer speaks with actor Penn, who she said betrayed her.

Del Castillo reportedly arranged a secret meeting with Penn and the alleged kingpin in 2015 for a documentary or film she intended to make about Guzman’s life.

"Sean Penn apparently helped in the location and detention" of Guzman, now on trial in New York, she said. "I was not aware of that situation, and that is why I have always referred to it as betrayal."

"He behaved very badly because he didn't protect me and put my life at risk," said del Castillo, who added she would like to kick the American actor in the groin.

Del Castillo is also suing Mexican authorities for $60 million after she says prosecutors in the administration of former President Enrique Pena Nieto leaked information that suggested she might be linked to drug trafficking or sentimentally connected to Guzman, something she said cost her acting work.

Del Castillo was investigated but never charged.
