A photo showing Oksana Grigorieva with two damaged front teeth was released Friday amid reports of domestic abuse at the hands of legendary actor Mel Gibson.

The photo, obtained by RadarOnline.com, is reported to have been taken within 24 hours of a January 6 physical altercation with Gibson.

The photo is a piece of evidence in a criminal investigation of Gibson, 54, as well as part of the former couple’s ongoing custody battle.

Grigorieva, with whom Gibson has an infant daughter, filed a complaint against the actor July 5. Since then, several recorded telephone conversations between the two have been leaked to the press.

The violent, racist and sexist rants contain threats against Grigorieva’s life, in addition to prolific insults from an incensed and seemingly out-of-control Gibson.

RadarOnline.com also claims to have obtained photographic evidence of abuse against the couple’s daughter, who was alleged to have been injured when Gibson reportedly hit Grigorieva.

Sources connected to Gibson tell TMZ.com that they have proof that Grigorieva attempted to extort the actor, demanding more than $10 million in return for keeping the tapes secret.

Lawyers tell Fox411.com that if she is behind the release of the tapes, which were part of a closed investigation, she could face criminal charges.

On Thursday, Gibson's ex wife, Robyn, wrote a sworn declaration on his behalf, saying he never physically abused her or any of their children during their 28 year marriage.

"Mel never engaged in any physical abuse of any kind toward me before, during or after our marriage," she wrote, calling him a "wonderful and loving father."
