Ariana Grande recalls days as Florida Panthers super fan in tweets

Pop superstar Ariana Grande on Sunday recalled her younger days of being a Florida Panthers fan after an article about her being hit by two pucks and getting to ride in a Zamboni resurfaced.

The Sun Sentinel article from Oct. 10, 1998, showed the 5-year-old future chart-topper riding in the Zamboni at the Panthers’ arena.

Grande commented on her appearance in a tweet.

“if i’m honest ..... this is still exactly what i look like without lashes and my pony ..... anyone who knows me knows me knows ..... like .... i’m twenty five. i was five here. the only difference now is that hand now says bbq grill finger,” she wrote.

The Boca Raton, Fla., youngster was only 5 years old when she had been hit by two errant pucks while attending Panthers games – once on each wrist. At the time, she had gone to every Panthers home game since she was just 2 years old, according to the Sun Sentinel.

“She is such a great fan that we bought her the ride at an auction,” Grande’s mother, Joan Grande-Butera, told the Sun Sentinel at the time.

Since then, Grande has gone on to become one of the most famous names in music. She won her first Grammy Award on Sunday for Best Pop Vocal Album with “Sweetner.”
