Demi Lovato had one message over the long weekend: Don’t mess with my family, especially little sister Madison De La Garza.

De La Garza - the 12-year-old daughter of Lovato's mom, Dianna Lee Hart, and her second husband, Eddie De La Garza - posted on Twitter a Vine of herself cooking, and some cruel “fans” decided it would be funny to take some shots at her, calling her, among other unflattering things, a hunchback.

Well, big sis Lovato didn't like that one bit, taking to Twitter to scold those who made fun of her sister.

“For anyone telling me to ‘chill’… The impact bullies have over the Internet can lead people to suicide,” she tweeted on Sunday. “I can handle bullshit. But do NOT f*** with my baby sister.”

She continued, “I’m all for peace and spreading love UNTIL you go after a 12 YEAR OLD who did NOTHING to you. So disappointed that after all the conversation about cyber-bulling in this world that people would continue to do this to others. @Maddielovesyou1 you are BEAUTIFUL and the most precious little angel in my life and I will always protect you. I LOVE YOU.”

In a subsequent tweet, Lovato wrote added, “Physical disabilities are NOTHING to joke about. SEVERE SCOLIOSIS IS NOTHING TO MAKE FUN OF.”

Lovato prompted her fans to start tweeting the hashtags #MADISONISBEAUTIFUL #FeelBetterMaddie, which quickly started trending worldwide.

“I’m speechless… I love y’all so much… Thank you,” De La Garza tweeted along with a screenshot of the trending hashtag.

Lovato and De La Garza are very close. The 22-year-old has said that one of the main reasons she entered rehab for substance abuse was the thought that her addiction would not allow her to be in her half-sister’s life.
