Eric Dane, who plays Dr. Mark "McSteamy" Sloan on "Grey's Anatomy," has checked himself into rehab to treat an addiction to painkillers, his rep told People magazine Wednesday.

"Actor Eric Dane voluntarily checked himself into a treatment facility to help him get off of pain medication that he was prescribed for a sports injury that he suffered over the recent hiatus," the statement said.

"He reports back to work next week. Business as usual," the statement added.

The news of Dane's treatment comes shortly after he and his wife, actress Rebecca Gayheart, revealed they were expecting their second child together.

Dane, 38, and Gayheart, 39, were married in October 2004 and are parents to a daughter, Billie, who is 16-months-old.
