Helen Hunt reveals she once tried to date Rick Springfield: 'I was so in love'

It sounds like Helen Hunt really wanted to be "Jessie's Girl" back in the day.

The 53-year-old actress appeared on Thursday's episode of "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen" and revealed she had a major crush on Rick Springfield.

"He wouldn't date me but I was madly in love with Rick Springfield," Hunt said.

The "Ride" actress explained that the two were filming on the same studio lot -- he was playing dreamy Dr. Noah Drake on "General Hospital" and she was shooting the short-lived sitcom "It Takes Two."

Hunt eventually tried to make the first move, but it didn't quite turn out as planned.

"I left a note on his car," she admitted. "I left it on his windshield and somehow, he managed to not call me."

Cohen quickly agreed that the teenage music icon was pretty hot, adding that his "hair was amazing."

"I was so in love with him, you don't even understand," Hunt gushed.

Hunt has been focusing on directing, and recently helmed the Christmas episode of the hit show "This is Us."
