'Jeopardy!' star Ken Jennings confused by Grammy nomination for Trebek's book: 'This should 100% be Alex's'

Ken Jennings is speaking out after being nominated for a Grammy Award for co-narrating Alex Trebek's memoir.
Trebek, the beloved "Jeopardy!" host who died on Nov. 8, released his first-ever book in July about his life and longstanding career in entertainment just one day prior to his 80th birthday.
"Alex Trebek -- The Answer Is..." was nominated for best spoken word album by the Recording Academy on Tuesday. Jennings is listed as the future recipient should it win the category. However, Trebek is confusingly not listed as a nominee despite him writing and partially narrating the book.
"Wait, what??" Jennings tweeted along with a photo of his nomination against others in the category.

"This should 100% be Alex's Grammy nomination," Jennings wrote in a second tweet. "He wrote the book and reads much of the audiobook! Who do I speak to about this."

According to TMZ, Simon & Schuster, the publisher, submitted the late “Jeopardy!” host for the award. Citing sources, the gossip site reports that the publisher is left scratching its head over the exclusion of Trebek's name.
Reps for the Recording Academy and Simon & Schuster did not immediately respond to Fox News' requests for comment.
On Nov. 8, "Jeopardy!" announced Trebek's passing. The veteran host passed away "peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends," according to the show's statement. He died after battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer. During his final years on the "Jeopardy!" stage, Trebek continued to update fans on his condition as he underwent treatment. He vowed to continue hosting and doing the job that he loves for as long as humanly possible.

As for Jennings, the contestant who broke show records with a 74-game winning streak and $2.52 million in earnings, he was recently tapped as one of the interim guest hosts.
"We will resume production on 11/30 with a series of interim guest hosts from the Jeopardy! family – starting with Ken Jennings," the show's official Twitter account said. "Additional guest hosts to be announced."

Following the news, Jennings also reacted, stating: "There will only ever be one Alex Trebek, but I'm honored to be helping 'Jeopardy!' out with this in January."
Earlier this year, Jennings won the show's "Greatest of All Time" tournament.
