Despite a "violent cough" that is "causing pains on the top of his head," Dow is in good spirits with no fever, just lots of IV fluids, Lauren added.

The update comes after news broke that Dow, 76, was forced to wait 24 hours for a hospital bed as Delta variant COVID-19 cases surge in California.

Los Angeles County’s public health department reported more than 25,000 deaths total as of yesterday, with six deaths occurring Monday. As of yesterday, there were 1,687 hospitalizations. The COVID-19 cases are keeping beds full, blocking people with other conditions or ailments from getting treatment.
