Following her split from Chris Zylka last month, Paris Hilton has confirmed that she’s keeping the 20-carat, $2 million pear-shaped diamond engagement ring he proposed with back in January.
“The person who we got it from got millions and millions of dollars of free publicity,” Hilton said during an interview on Jenny McCarthy’s Sirius XM show on Wednesday. “I love how social media has basically become a new form of money. It’s pretty sick.”
McCarthy then asked the 37-year-old star outright whether she planned to keep the ring. “Yes,” Hilton replied. “Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.”
Page Six was the first to report that the “American Meme” star would likely wind up with the sparkler, despite reports that Zylka wanted it back. “The ring is hers,” a source close to the couple told us shortly after they called off their engagement in November.
The insider also revealed that celebrity jeweler Michael Greene, a friend of Hilton’s, originally gave her the rock for free.
Hilton already lost the jaw-dropping diamond once, when it flew off her finger while she was dancing at a Miami club in March — and clearly, she’s not letting it go again.
