Saturday Night Live' se burla del debate sobre la vicepresidencia, del diagnóstico de Trump y de Herman Cain en la apertura fría

Esta semana, "Saturday Night Live" volvió a enfrentarse a las elecciones presidenciales de 2020 burlándose del debate vicepresidencial del miércoles entre la senadora Kamala Harris y el vicepresidente Mike Pence.
Al igual que en el debate de la vida real, la mosca que se posó sobre la cabeza de Pence fue la que acaparó la mayor parte del tiempo de pantalla en la apertura fría del sábado. El programa volvió a contar con Jim Carrey para interpretar a Joe Biden que decide teletransportarse al debate para "salvar el alma de esta nación".
A partir de ahí, el sketch se convirtió en una parodia de la película de 1986 "La mosca". El Biden de Carrey llega al debate en forma de mosca para burlarse de Pence tras meterse en un teletransportador experimental, igual que en la película. Además de transformarse en una mosca, el sketch parodiaba aún más la película haciendo que el Biden de Carrey también empezara a transformarse en la estrella de la película, Jeff Goldblum.
"Dios creó a los dinosaurios, los dinosaurios se hicieron republicanos, los republicanos crearon a Trump, Trump destruye a Dios", dijo, citando libremente al personaje de Goldblum en "Parque Jurásico".

Poco después, una segunda mosca interpretada por Kenan Thompson se posó sobre la cabeza de Pence declarando ser el difunto Herman Cain. Cain murió a los 74 años en julio tras ser hospitalizado a causa del coronavirus.
“These fools — Trump and Pence — killed me, man,” he said. “They invited me to a rally, said everything was fine, Herman. I catch corona, Trump tells me, ‘Everything is fine, Herman.’ The White House doctors check me out, tell me, ‘Everything is fine, Herman.’ Three days later I’m gone. If you’re watching this at home, don’t trust this white devil about that ‘rona.”
Earlier in the sketch, Pence, played by cast member Beck Bennett, traded barbs with Harris, played by former cast member Maya Rudolph, who took to the stage while gleefully spraying two cans of Lysol.

El sketch se burlaba del reciente diagnóstico de COVID del presidente Trump, y la Susan Page de Kate McKinnon señalaba que se habían puesto barreras de plexiglás en el escenario porque "uno de vosotros trabaja para el paciente cero".
At one point, she asked about Trump’s health, to which Bennett’s Pence replied: “The president is doing amazing. Thanks to his team of terrified doctors. As you heard from his primary physician, Dr. Handsome Liar, Trump is in peak physical condition.”

He added that he is taking almost no medications except aspiring, which he has always taken. He then said that Trump also happens to be on “a Macho Man Randy Savage-amount of steroids a woman’s probiotic for balance and 60 CCs of helium into his skull so his head doesn’t fall over on TV. … He’s also taking Viagra for morale and some horny goat weed he bought at a gas station because the president believes in medicine, unlike Senator Harris who said that she wouldn’t even take a vaccine.”

The sketch concluded with Harris pretending to swat the two flies on Pence’s head from behind her barrier.
