Anyone who’s ever spent a little too much time outside without sunblock knows the painful symptoms of a sunburn. But for one unfortunate man, the sun wreaked more havoc than he expected on his newly-shaved head.
Cade Huckabay shared the shocking images of his bright-red forehead on Twitter. His burn was so severe, in fact, that it swelled up to the point he left a dent in it with his finger.

“One time I shaved my head, got severely sunburned, & swelled up just a little bit :-)” he wrote alongside the series of images.
“Since it was always covered in hair or a hat, my scalp had basically never seen sunlight before that,” Huckabay told Yahoo Lifestyle. “Needless to say, I got it kinda bad.”
He wrote on Twitter that the burn was so bad, the dent stayed there for about half an hour.

“Word to the wise, wear sunscreen,” he wrote.
After sharing the pictures on social media, Huckabay’s tweet went viral, racking up over 2,000 comments and 300,000 likes.
“My claim to fame is my head growing 6 times its size? Seems about right,” Huckabay wrote on Twitter.

People also took the opportunity to make comparisons between Huckabay and a number of cartoons, sharing the look-alike pics on Twitter.
Luckily, Huckabay seems to be taking it all in good fun.
"Tbh this was my most attractive week on record," he wrote.

Huckabay isn’t the first person to share his extreme sunburn online. Earlier this year, a Scottish man posted pictures of his blistered shoulders and back from spending a day outside working. The burn was so severe he ended up bedridden.
