It’s the season for giving, and one Secret Santa in Colorado clearly took that to heart when he granted dozens of families a Christmas miracle.

Walmart customers in Longmont were shocked to discover all their layaway items had been paid for last week, with a combined total of $45,000.

“I was at work, and I got an email saying that someone had paid off my layaway,” Lisa McMillan, a single mother of five, told Fox 31. “I just froze and was like oh my God, oh my God, this is not happening. I was in shock.”

McMillan, who said the holidays are a financial struggle for her family, had planned on canceling her layaway items because she couldn’t afford them.

“This year’s been really hard. This came as a really true blessing.”

Others were equally as touched by the stranger’s kind act.

“I just started crying. I was like, this is a miracle. There is good in this world, and people who want to help people,” Natasha Loper told Fox 31.

Another family whose items were paid off by the mystery shopper said they donated the hundreds of dollars they saved to charity.

“Thank you for making my Christmas that much better for my family,” Joy Deherrera said.

This seems to have become a trend this holiday season, with two other secret Santas around the country doing something similar.

In Uniondale, N.Y. last month, a local Walmart took to Facebook to thank their own secret Santa for paying off all the layaway items.

The same thing happened in Derby, Vt., when a man who referred to himself as Santa Claus walked up to customers waiting in line at layaway and offered to pay for all their items.
