During her time at FNC, Banderas has covered several major news events, including the papal inauguration of Pope Francis, Hurricane Sandy, Hurricane Dennis, the disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba, the Terri Schiavo legal case in Florida, the murder of Jessica Lunsford, a nine-year-old girl, at the hands of a registered sex offender, and the emergency landing of Southwest Flight 345 at LaGuardia Airport. Prior to joining FNC, Banderas was a weekend anchor at WNYW-TV (FOX 5) in New York, NY, and also worked as an anchor for several local stations, including WFSB-TV (CBS 3) in Hartford, CT, WHSV-TV (ABC 3) in Harrisonburg, VA, and WBRE-TV (NBC 11) in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He began his career at WLVI-TV (CW 56) in Boston, MA.
In 2004, Banderas received the Emmy Award for "Best Single Newscast" for his coverage of the Republican National Convention. He graduated from Emerson College with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.
