On Sunday's #Mediabuzz 11 ET:
Lara Trump said that Pete Hegseth has endured “a lot of personal attacks” since being tapped for Defense Secretary but is “incredibly qualified,” and that “a lot of people weren’t surprised” by Joe Biden breaking his promise to not pardon his son. She also said that “some may say” sharing the Trump name is an asset, and “some may say it’s not an asset” in terms of potentially trying to fill Florida’s vacant Senate seat, and that Elon Musk’s goal of slashing $2 trillion from government spending “may be ‘Mission Impossible’ to some people,” but there is runaway spending.
Mollie Hemingway said that Joe Biden weighing preemptive pardons for those perceived as vulnerable to Trump Justice Department investigations is “truly scandalous. And it relates to a lot of issues that the American people want to know the truth about.” She also said that people in Washington “don’t care about adultery or drinking. They only pretend to care … when they can be weaponized” against a nominee, as with Pete Hegseth.
Liz Claman said that “the press is not giving … a complete pass” to Joe Biden for going against his word and pardoning his son. She also said that Pete Hegseth once wrote in a letter to his conservative backers at a charity for military vets that they had “less than $1,000” in the bank and were $430,000 in debt, “so you’ve got to look at all of this and understand exactly how he would lead.”
Jacqui Heinrich said that in Donald Trump’s first major interview since winning the election, which aired today (12/8) on NBC's Meet The Press, he made clear that he “doesn’t want to be the one directing reprisals” against political enemies. She also said that “it’s not really that surprising” to see Donald Trump already taking over foreign policy before being sworn in, and that it is “incumbent on the media to have [a] reset” with Trump in his second term.
