Here is what to know about these two oddsboards:

AL Injuries: When the season began, Detroit's Tarik Skubal was favored to win a third straight Cy Young. That's how dominant he's been. However, this week it was decided that he would have surgery to remove loose bodies in his throwing elbow, and he will now be sidelined for months, opening the door for a new winner. Atop the board is the Yankees' Cam Schlittler, who is 5-1 in eight starts with a 1.52 ERA, 53 strikeouts and a 0.87 WHIP. Just behind him? His teammate Max Fried, who is 4-1 in eight starts with a 2.39 ERA, 43 strikeouts and a 0.89 WHIP.

The NL Race: Paul Skenes took home the award last season, after leading all baseball in ERA, and he remains the favorite in the NL, after opening the year atop the oddsboard. Through seven starts, Pittsburgh's Skenes hasn't been completely dominant, sporting a 4-2 record and a 3.18 ERA with 39 Ks. Right in his rearview mirror is reigning World Series MVP Yoshinobu Yamamoto. The Dodgers' ace is 3-2 with a 3.09 ERA and 40 Ks in seven starts.
