HD Televisions are no longer the highest quality TVs available on the market.

Samsung unveiled a new line of curved SUHD TVs at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

“This delivers the highest color purity and light efficiency available today,” said Joe Stinziano, Vice President of Samsung Electronics America.

The SUHD quality delivers a crystal clear picture that maximizes color via millions of tiny, nanocrystal semiconductors that create pure reds, blues and greens.

“The arrival of SUHD creates a lot of new possibilities,” said Mike Dunn, President of 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. “New SUHD TVs are the best we’ve ever seen.”

In an effort to set SUHD as the new standard, Samsung announced its UHD Alliance — a partnership with major companies and distributors such as Disney, 20th Century Fox, and Netflix.

In addition to the improved screen quality, all of Samsung’s TVs now come ‘smart’ with an updated interface that simplifies the experience of streaming content. Users can direct the smart TV with a remote, voice command or even gesture recognition.

Samsung also unveiled a string of nifty new consumer gadgets like the Gear VR—a wearable pair of glasses that transports the user into a virtual reality where he can watch videos and movies.

Audio technology is also seeing big improvements.

Samsung introduced new speakers and surround sound systems that emit equal amounts of quality sound in a 360 degree direction—meaning the speaker no longer sends the sound waves out in one direction like a flashlight. It eliminates the need to be in the “sweet spot” directly in front of the speaker for maximized experience.

On the home front, Samsung showcased its new line of ovens that are divided into two separate chambers that can cook two items at different temperatures at the same time.
