The Bellingham Herald reports that Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Lorie Dankers says the camouflage object was found Saturday morning inside luggage passing through screening equipment.

The Bellingham Police Department's bomb squad had responded to investigate the object and later determined it was a device used to break marijuana into smaller pieces for smoking.

Airport spokeswoman Marie Duckworth says security had evacuated the screening and boarding areas and four departing flights were delayed.

Dankers says the owner of the luggage was released and allowed to board his flight.
