10-year-old Dallas boy kidnapped during home invasion found after 7 hours

DALLAS- The 10-year-old boy who was kidnapped during a Dallas home invasion robbery was found safe Monday afternoon.
Nicholas Fierros, Jr. was taken from a home on the 800 block of Buick Avenue around 12:35 p.m. Police said three masked black males in all black clothing forced their way into the home and demanded money at gunpoint.
Nicholas was found about seven hours later on Ann Arbor Avenue and Frio Drive. Police said someone recognized him and called police.
Police said the boy has been living with his aunt for the summer. The gunmen held the aunt down inside her home and pistol whipped her. They demanded money and said they'd take Nicholas if she didn't give them money.
Two other kids were in the home at the time. They were able to hide and one of them called 911 after the gunmen took the boy at gunpoint and ran away.
Nicholas was reunited with his family and interviewed at the Dallas Advocacy Center. It's not yet clear if he was able to provide police with a description of the suspects or information about their motive.
Dallas police originally said an Amber Alert was issued for the boy, but later said the kidnapping did not meet all the Amber Alert criteria.
