The country music industry rallied around Craig Morgan when his teenage son died in a tragic tubing accident in July 2016. Morgan has stayed mostly silent on the issue, but addressed his loss in a Facebook Live video on Friday.

Jerry Greer died on July 10 while tubing behind a boat on Kentucky Lake in Tennessee. The 19-year-old disappeared into the water and never resurfaced. His body was recovered the next day — his cause of death was ruled an accidental drowning. In the video, Morgan thanks fans for their support, also sharing some memories of his late son.

“… I wanted to personally get on here and tell all of you thank you so much for your kind words and your support,” Morgan says. “It’s been amazing. The fans — we’ve gotten letters and emails and Facebook posts and all kinds of stuff, so we want to say thank you. This is from my family.”

He goes on to praise his son, who he calls an “amazing young man.”

“His spirit and his attitude and his love continues on through all of us. And I don’t just mean me and my family — I mean my crew, my friends, his friends and it’s an amazing story,” the “This Ain’t Nothing” singer says humbly. “We continue to cherish that in the time we had with him. And I want to share that with you all.”

Morgan also took questions from fans in the video and discussed his American Stories Tour, which features appearances by Mac Powell of Third Day, along with military heroes and veterans.

“We don’t just sing songs, we tell stories,” Morgan says of the tour, revealing that he’ll further the tour with more shows and even more surprise guests in 2017.
