Sylvester Stallone is an actor, producer, writer and director. He is perhaps most well-known for the “Rocky” movies, that he wrote and also played the main character. Stallone has five children from two marriages. In August 2022, he and his wife of 25 years, Jennifer Flavin got divorced.
Stallone was born on July 6, 1946, to parents Jackie and Frank Stallone. He studied at both American College of Switzerland and the University of Miami.
Stallone’s big break came when he wrote "Rocky" which is about a Philadelphia boxer looking for a chance to break into the sport. Stallone played Rocky Balboain the movie that became a huge success. “Rocky” was nominated for 10 Academy Awards and won the award for best picture. Others in the cast were Talia Shire, Burgess Meredith, Burt Young and Carl Weathers.
Stallone went on to play Balboa in additional “Rocky” movies. “Rocky II” came out in 1979 followed by “Rocky III” in 1982 and “Rocky IV” in 1985. He was then in “Rocky V” in 1990 and was in “Rocky Balboa” in 2006. He was the director of “Rocky II,” “Rocky II,” “Rocky IV” and “Rocky Balboa.” Stallone reprised his role in the 2015 movie “Creed” starring Michael B. Jordan and was in the movie’s sequel “Creed II” in 2018.
Another popular movie franchise that Stallone plays the leading role in and wrote are the “Rambo” movies. The first movie “First Blood” came out in 1982 and the second “Rambo: First Blood Part II” came out in 1985. He was also in the 1988 movie “Rambo III,” “Rambo” in 2008 and “Rambo: Last Blood” in 2019.
Other popular movies that Stallone has been in over the years are “F.I.S.T.,” “Paradise Alley,” “Cobra,” “Tango & Cash,” “Oscar,” “Antz,” “Driven,” “Spy Kids 3: Game Over,” “The Expendables,” “Escape Plan” and “Backtrace.” He was recently in the 2022 movie "Samaritan.
Stallone’s first marriage was to his “Rocky IV” costar Brigitte Nielsen. The two got married in 1985 but divorced in 1987. He then married Sasha Czack in 1974 and divorced in 1985. The two share two children Sage and Seargeoh.
Stallone later got married to Flavin and they had three children together, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet. In August 2022, after 25 years of marriage, news came out about the pairs divorce.
