Their successful endeavors, including a whopping six HGTV shows and a home furnishing line, have made Jonathan and Drew Scott the happiest failed actors on the planet.

In addition to their TV shows and real estate empire, the 40-year-old Scott twins are also published authors and have Scott Brothers Entertainment, and a new endeavor, Casaza, that features interiors decorated by designers hand-selected by the Property Brothers themselves. Consumers can buy all the items featured, and the brothers say that eventually they'll be able to hire the designers to come to their homes and design for them.

It's a lot of work, but the Scotts divvy up their workload during downtime on set. Drew typically has more of that since selling a home is a bit less time-consuming than demolition and renovation, they note, so he'll check his email often during filming.

“Between shots, we’re always on email,” Jonathan said. “Our team knows that we divide and conquer; if Drew has responded [to an email], I don’t.”

What makes them so successful? While one TV exec said it was the aesthetics of "two young guys in tight jeans," the Scotts think it's something else.

“We want our company to be the easiest relationship anyone’s ever had,” Drew said. “A lot of talent on shows are high-maintenance jerks. At the end of the day, people want to work with who they like. We have the same thing between us.”
